Rehoming and Fostering
Rehoming
Animals offered for rehoming must be at least six months old, either neutered or spayed and accompanied by a vaccination certificate showing at least six weeks before revaccination is due, and must be microchipped. A rehoming fee (see below) will be charged to help cover the cost of the animal’s food, etc, during its stay at BARC.. Animals should be booked in at least 3-4 months before the space is required.
Prospective owners need only to visit BARC during office hours to see the animals being offered for rehoming. There is no charge for taking an animal from BARC.
Animals are taken out for a trial period, and can be returned during this period if things don’t work out. However, once the paperwork is signed the new owner is held responsible for all expenses associated with their new pet.
Fostering
In certain cases animals may be taken out on foster. This is usually offered for older animals or when BARC is extremely full. During the foster period (which is usually 3 months), the animal is still advertised for a permanent home. BARC will meet the cost of any veterinary care required - all we ask is that you feed and care for the pet.
